Arriving at your school formal in a limousine or prestige car provides a great photo opportunity but there are some things you should consider before you contact car hire companies.

Here are our five tips to hiring a car for your school ball.

Tip 1 – Work out how many people will be in the car

This will determine the size of the car you will be hiring. The capacity of the hire car will vary between models and hire companies so check they can accommodate everyone before you make your booking.

Tip 2 – Know the details

When you contact the car hire company for a quote, they will need details such as:

• Will your group be collected from one address or multiple locations?
• The address for each pick-up location
• The venue address
• The date of your school formal
• The start time
• If you wish to be collected at the end of the formal
• If so, the time you wish to be collected

Tip 3 – BOOK EARLY!!

In order to secure your booking, you will need to pay a deposit with the balance payable before the big night. Sometimes hire cars are stuck in traffic or have trouble finding your address.

Make sure you give the car hire company multiple options for contacting you and your friends including:

• Your mobile number
• Your home number
• Your parents’ mobile numbers
• The above contact details for a few of your friends and their parents

That way, if there is a hiccup on the night, the hire company will be able to advise you and resolve the problem quickly.
